Reverse Osmosis Under the Kitchen Sink in Arlington
We fit reverse osmosis systems beneath your kitchen sink so the water you drink and cook with comes out cleaner. Every install is neat, set on a proper filter schedule and walked through with you, so it keeps working well after our visit.
Filtered water at one tap, built for years of use
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a very fine membrane that holds back dissolved solids, lead from older plumbing and many trace contaminants that a basic pitcher filter lets through. Because it treats only the water you drink and cook with, it fits under one sink and does not need to handle the whole house.
It is the right call when you want the most refined water at the kitchen tap, or when a test shows something in your home's plumbing worth removing. If your main complaint is chlorine taste in the shower as well as the glass, whole-house carbon filtration may serve you better, and we will say so.
A membrane lasts longest when the filters in front of it are changed on time. We plan for that from the first visit, because the upkeep is what keeps the water tasting the way it did on day one.
What your installation includes
A staged filter train
A sediment prefilter catches grit, a carbon prefilter removes chlorine before it can harm the membrane, the membrane does the fine work, and a carbon polishing filter finishes the taste.
A dedicated faucet, set cleanly
We mount a separate drinking water faucet in an existing sink hole or drill a new one. Granite, quartz and porcelain each need a different bit and a slower hand, and we bring the right tools for your counter.
Proper drain and supply connections
The system tees into your cold line with its own shutoff valve, and the reject water runs to a drain saddle with an air gap so nothing can siphon back.
Tidy layout under the cabinet
Tubing is cut to length and routed away from the garbage disposal, and the tank sits where you can still reach your cleaning supplies.
Optional refrigerator line
If you want filtered water and ice from the fridge, we can run a line to it during the same visit.
A written filter schedule
You leave with the change dates for each stage, matched to your household's use, so nothing gets missed.
When an RO system is worth considering
Bottled water is a weekly purchase
If you keep buying cases of water, a system under the sink delivers that quality from the faucet, with no plastic to toss and nothing to haul home.
Your pipes have some age on them
Original copper joints and older fixtures can add lead between the street and your faucet. RO ranks among the most effective ways to cut it right where you drink.
Your coffee or tea tastes wrong
A dull or chemical flavor in hot drinks usually comes from dissolved solids or disinfectant. Plenty of owners taste the change with their first cup.
Glasses and kettles show spots
A white film on glasses or scale in the kettle comes from dissolved minerals, which RO removes.
Testing found a specific problem
When water testing turns up a contaminant you want out of your drinking water, RO is frequently the most direct fix.
How the visit runs
- 1
A conversation and, if useful, a test
We ask what you are noticing and how your household uses water. If there is an open question, we suggest water testing first so the system is chosen for what is actually in your tap.
- 2
Checking the space and pressure
We look under the sink for room, the drain layout and your incoming pressure. RO membranes work best with steady pressure, and low readings may call for a small booster pump.
- 3
Installation, start to finish
We lay down a mat, protect the cabinet floor, set the faucet, make the connections and mount the filters. Most installs take a few hours.
- 4
Flushing and leak checks
New filters and membranes are flushed before use, and every fitting is checked dry. We wipe down, take away the packaging and show you how to shut the system off.
What moves the cost
Pricing depends on the system and on your kitchen, so we look first and then give you a clear quote that lists each part. You also hear what ongoing filters will cost, because upkeep is part of owning an RO system.
- Tank or tankless system
- Traditional systems with a storage tank cost less up front. Tankless units save cabinet space and deliver water on demand but carry a higher price.
- Countertop and faucet
- Using an existing hole is simplest. Drilling stone or porcelain takes more time and care, and faucet finishes vary to match your fixtures.
- Add-ons
- A refrigerator line, a remineralization stage or a booster pump each add parts and labor.
- Access under the sink
- A crowded cabinet, an awkward disposal or an unusual drain can lengthen the job.
- Ongoing filter costs
- Prefilters are typically changed every six to twelve months and membranes every few years, depending on use and water quality.
Common RO questions
Something not covered here? (817) 799-6636
Is reverse osmosis wasteful with water?
All RO units send some water down the drain to rinse the membrane. Current models waste much less than older ones, and in homes with low pressure a booster pump improves the ratio more. We explain what the model we suggest will do.
Does RO water taste flat?
Very pure water can strike some people as plain. A remineralization stage puts back a little calcium and magnesium for a fuller taste, and adding it during the install is simple.
When do the filters need replacing?
Plan on prefilters every six to twelve months, the polishing filter about once a year and the membrane every two to five years. Overdue prefilters cut membrane life short, so we agree on a schedule with you. Our filter replacement and maintenance service can take care of it.
Will it work alongside my garbage disposal?
In most kitchens it will. We set the tank and filters off to the side and run the tubing away from the disposal so both have room.
Is a water test required first?
Not in every case. If better-tasting drinking water is the goal, we can proceed. If you suspect lead or another particular issue, a test confirms RO fits the problem and sets a baseline for later comparison.
